I am not seeing an artnet or SACN connection!
- Confirm you have an active artnet or SACN stream using a tool such as The Artnetominator or SACN View
- These tools should be closed when you start unreal, as these protocols sometimes need exclusive port access
- Confirm the network connection being used has no firewall enabled.
I can't see the Light or Beam!
- First make sure that your DMX Connection is activated and you can see fixtures pan and tilt.
- If you can't see the light hitting surfaces, Check Engine Scalability Settings:
- Shadows must be set to medium or up for our light functions
- Check your exposure settings to see if you see standard moving spotlights in unreal
- If you can't see a beam, check collisions on the meshes in your scene. If the beam shadow mode is set to "Occlusion", collisions are used to detect when a beam hits an object and cuts the beam.
DMX Data is paused when trying to record using Sequencer!
- To ensure proper functionality, DMX recording must always be done in Play mode. Remember to switch recording modes only when Play mode is stopped.
Low FPS when not in viewport
- Editor Preferences: “Use Less CPU in background” → uncheck
License and/or DMX status remains red after activating license
- Delete sessions file in
%localappdata%\CarbonForUnreal
- Delete SaveGames folder in
<projectRoot>\Saved
Issues with sequencer tracks/ Crashing on sequencer recording
- Make sure level has world partition disabled
- If enabled, create a new blank level (not open world)
- Make sure that fixture names do not have special characters (*, %, #)
- Ensure that all fixtures are uniquely named
